Juan Pablo, for those keeping score. I grew up in Guayaquil, Ecuador's busiest port city. As a teenager, I packed my bags and moved to Buenos Aires, where I did my undergrad. Then in 2022, Tennessee called.
I joined MTSU's Jones College of Business as a Graduate Assistant and walked away with a Master's in Information Systems. These days I work for a major Nashville hospital corporation and still teach Statistical Methods back at MTSU.
I moonlight as a data consultant at Sinfo-Q, helping companies in Ecuador make sense of their numbers. I also co-founded BRERA, a real estate commercialization company.
In 2025, I started a second master's at Vanderbilt, this time in Computer Science, with a focus on AI and Machine Learning. And I highly doubt it'll be my last academic experience.
I'm currently working on a couple of projects exploring AI in education and cybersecurity. Still figuring out where it all leads, but the questions are too interesting to ignore.
I used to do CrossFit because I genuinely loved it. These days I show up mostly to keep the belly at bay.
I take wine pretty seriously too; seriously enough to get certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers (Europe).
To unwind, I cycle between Netflix documentaries and books. I recently got my reading appetite back after years away from it, and right now I'm deep into Ron Chernow's biography of George Washington. No regrets.
